Presidential Volunteer Service Award
Every U.S. delegate, reigning queen, director and staff member who turns in qualifying hours can receive the Presidential Volunteer Service Award on stage at the National Pageant.
Our award year ends 6 weeks before nationals.
In our 2 years, our delegates have given more than 36,000 hours of service and raised nearly $1,500 for charity.
2025 EPIC Service Project Benefitting Ronald McDonald House. EPIC Delegates and National Queens donated supplies and made more than 100 "Fun Kits" to occupy house guests during their stay.

A Look into Labor Day`s Origins
Labor Day, recognized as a federal holiday in the United States, takes place on the first Monday of September. This day serves to celebrate the American labor movement and acknowledge the vital contributions made by workers towards the nation’s progress and accomplishments.
The movement towards establishing Labor Day began in the late 1800s, during a time when trade unions were expanding. Advocates within these unions sought a dedicated day to honor labor. The Central Labor Union and the Knights of Labor were instrumental in advocating for "Labor Day," organizing the inaugural parade in New York City. Oregon became the first state to officially declare it a public holiday in 1887. By the time it was recognized at the federal level in 1894, thirty states were already commemorating Labor Day.
Often referred to as the "unofficial end of summer," Labor Day signifies the conclusion of what is traditionally considered summer in American culture. This period typically signals the start of various autumn activities, including the return to school and the beginning of sports seasons, particularly football.
In terms of fashion, Labor Day has historically been viewed as the final acceptable occasion to wear white or seersucker attire. This custom partly stems from the affluent New Yorkers of the 19th century returning from their summer residences in Newport, prompting a shift back to more formal clothing. The customary final day for wearing straw hats transitioned from around Labor Day (September 1) to September 15. In 1922, tensions flared in New York City during the Straw Hat Riot when groups targeted men who breached this sartorial etiquette. Today, some individuals embrace the idea of wearing white throughout the entire year.
