Growing up in pageantry, it often felt like the “it” girl mattered most — the one with the bigger budget, the fancier wardrobe, the louder crowd cheering for her. And if you weren’t her? You learned real quick how to shrink yourself.
And honestly? I carried that feeling with me for a long time. Even as I found mentors and friends who showed me love along the way — and even as I had my own successes — there were still plenty of moments where I felt unseen and overlooked.
But here’s the thing… those experiences made me stronger.
They taught me what friendship really is.
They showed me that someone’s heart matters more than their ability to create a buzz and make headlines.
They pushed me to dig deeper, stand taller, and keep going until I couldn’t be overlooked.
And that’s exactly why I became a director and coach. Because no girl should have to question whether or not she belongs. My calling is to build a space where every person feels loved, seen, and supported — whether she’s the one in the spotlight or the one still finding her way.
Because the spotlight was never meant for one girl. It’s big enough for all of us. And when you finally feel like someone’s in your corner, you realize you were unstoppable all along.
