
A true Texas lady, your 2025 Elite United States Emissary is Mary Ellen Harris from Beaumont, Texas. She was educated in her hometown having graduating from Beaumont’s Forest Park High School and Lamar University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology.
Before retiring, she had a 26 year career in the health care industry, during which time she served in an executive capacity for a number of service organizations, including Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Texas Continuity of Care, Triangle Aids Network, ACCT Care of Coastal Texas.
From 2010 through 2016, she served on the Transportation Committee for Alamo Area Council of Governments in San Antonio, Texas; was a Member of the Transportation Committee for Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission; and a Member of Transportation Committee for Middle Rio Grande Development Council in Uvalde, Texas.
Most of Mary’s life, she has rode horses. She was born a cowgirl, but with the teaching by her father, Travis E. Harris Sr, became a horsewoman.
