I can’t take credit for this quote.
I saw it this morning on the Facebook page of a Texas titleholder.
Such a good reminder to remember that you aren’t competing against anyone except your former self.
Are you better than yesterday? Are you taking even a tiny step forward towards your goals? Do you know more than you did yesterday? Can you use that to propel yourself towards a better you?
We all struggle with self-confidence. Some of us just hide it better than others.
Comparison is the thief of all joy.
Comparing yourself against your former self might be problematic.
Accepting for yourself exactly where you are knowing that where you will be tomorrow is different.
And ultimately knowing that all of your flaws are covered by the blood of Jesus, while we were yet sinners, he died for us. So if the King of the Universe accepted us in our flaws, we can be confident that we are loved, and perfectly imperfect.
One day, we will never have to compare ourselves again because we will have new perfect bodies living in perfect harmony with everyone including ourselves.
